I of a number of Fine art Blakey albums titled after "Nighttime In Tunisia" – and about likely the best! The melody is a perfect fit for the Blakey Jazz Messengers format – long, rhythmic, really stretching out, yet allowing plenty of space for the horn players to solo. Players include Bobby Timmons on piano, Lee Morgan on trumpet, and Wayne Shorter on tenor – a killer lineup that'southward in actually classic form hither – driven on nicely by Blakey's drums and bass work by Jymie Merritt. Titles include "Night In Tunisia", with Blakey thundering through impeccably – plus the tracks "Yama", "Kozo'due south Flit", and a version of Timmons' great "So Tired".  © 1996-2022, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Boosted Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, nosotros try to note it in the comments — peculiarly if it is an oddity that is the merely wrong thing near the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or vesture as noted in a higher place, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have but one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, just we choose information technology because we try to offer Used CDs in the all-time shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often alter the cases ourselves), and the booklet to exist in expert shape. Used CDs may testify some signs of use but if at that place are meaning details or defects nosotros will list them underneath the particular — but like we practise with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If yous buy a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 calendar week to play it to determine that information technology plays correctly — and if it does not, then y'all may return it for a full refund.

A lost classic from Art Blakey – quite different from some of his Blue Note piece of work! The album's a very swinging mid 60s session, noteworthy for the presence of John Gilmore, recording here in one of his few appearances away from Sunday Ra. Gilmore wails on tenor, and he sounds great side by side to Lee ...

A stunner – and i of Clark Terry's finest moments always!
